Parking
Omni Hotel at CNN Center Valet Parking -- the only is available secure option for guests staying at Host Hotel. IGBO 2008 participants get 40% discount off daily rate (currently $25—$15.00 with discount), which includes in/out privileges. (Note: All downtown major hotel only provide Valet parking. Also, there are no easily accessible, “secure” self-parking facilities near the hotel.) IGBO 2008 committee highly recommends out-of-town bowlers car-pool as much as possible to save in cost. Also, using Atlanta's MARTA transit system (station below CNN Center) to bowling venues is not a viable option. However, by all means use MARTA system to get to local attractions and nightlife around the city.
Off-site Parking Decks -- Parking may also be found for as little as $5 per night to as much as $25/ night at the CNN facility, Centennial Park Garage adjacent to the hotel, and other local-operated parking lots. However, all these facilities are not secured and require considerable walking distance for some to hotel lobby.
Bar and Nightlife Parking -- Limited parking is available at most Atlanta nightlife venues. However, many of those spaces will be taken up by locals. Simply put, your safest bet is to hail a taxi (most midtown nightlife is about 10 minutes away about $12. IGBO will also offer free shuttles to nightlife Friday and Saturday nights. Important IGBO Note: The Atlanta Host Committee recognizes that parking is an issue for some of our out-of-town guests. However, having a hotel large enough to host IGBO 2008 requires us to be downtown away from nightlife and away from our bowling centers. Atlanta downtown hotels rarely have free parking due to limited real estate. However, our discount Valet parking rate should help with some of the burden. When planning your IGBO 2008 trip, consider car pooling to cut down in parking costs. When all is said and done, you will very happy with our host hotel location and its amenities -- making its location worth every penny!
